Why Make Your Own Wine?
Okay, the fact that you’re here means the idea of making your own wine has crossed your mind. We are here and ready to help make your experience the best it can be!
Winemaking is so much more than just the process of converting grape juice into a delightful wine. It’s about personalizing your experience with new knowledge and selecting from the many unique wine styles and varietals. More importantly, it’s about the pride and pleasure you feel when you taste the first sip of a wine you have crafted yourself. Oh, and it tastes amazing! -
How Does It Work?
The first step is choosing a wine varital that you like. We have almost 100 wine styles, so if you need help narrowing down your decision, we are here to help.
Next up, you will start the fermentation process by adding the winemaking ingredients to the juice. Your craft winemaking specialist will keep an eye on your wine as it develops.
After 4 to 8 weeks of fermentation (depending on the wine you have chosen), you will return to bottle the wine. You will also expertly cork your wine and finish it off with your choice of labels and shrink tops. Get creative and personalize your labels to make the wine truly your own - they are included at no additional charge. While you’re here, we’ll provide you with a charcuterie board while you try your wine (the best part of the process).
Finally, take your wine home and enjoy!

What If I Don't Like My Wine?
First, there’s no way that will happen because all our wine is delicious! This is the most important step you will take with your wine - tasting it while you are bottling it. While you are in the store bottling your batch. We are committed to our customers and our wines. If you don't like your wine, we will help resolve any issues before you leave. Once the wine leaves Winescape we cannot offer refunds. This is because how you store and transport your wine can affect your wine, and this is something that we can not control or cover with our guarantee.
-
Are Bottles Included In The Price?
Many of our customers have their own bottles, so we do not include bottles or the cost of bottles in the prices. After the initial investment of purchasing bottles (if you do not have any) you will simply reuse them each time you have a new batch of wine to bottle. *Ask us about our “New Customer Promotion”, which applies to bottles. We also have a “Restart Promotion” that is offered in store each time you bottle.
Furthermore, bottles are a taxable product, whereas our juices, which we make into wine, are tax free. If the items were grouped together, you would be paying tax on the total amount.
Each batch of wine produces approximately 30 bottles of wine.

Are Your Wines 100% Vegan?
Okay, we don’t get this question much, but it needs to be answered. YES! Our wines, unlike 98% of the wines that you’ll find at the LCBO, are 100% Vegan.
Here are some (but not all) of the commonly used fining ingredients other wine makers use:
Isinglass (from fish bladders)
Gelatin (from boiled cow or pig body parts)
Albumin (egg whites)
Casein (animal milk protein)
Chitosan (contains crustacean)
But here at Winescape we don't use any of these products, making our wine 100% Vegan. -
How Should I Store My Wine?
The best way to store your wine is in a cool, dark place. A relative humidity of 50-70% is ideal. Storing your wine on its side is also a good practice as it ensures the cork stays hydrated. Our wines have a shelf life of up to 5 years. If aging for a prolonged period of time, it is typical for wines to shed tannin causing a haze of “floaties”.
